We live in terrifying times. While it is important to restore normality and give the economy a boost, the less we leave, the less risk we are in. The cinema is one of those places, and a projector “in the way” can enrich your room and give another life to your end of day.
In this sense, today we bring the analysis of a projector with good characteristics taking into account its price. Meet the BlitzWolf BW-VP2 projector.
First of all, it is important to be aware that, when purchasing a projector, you need to minimally prepare the place where you will place it. Thus, it is important to have a generously sized location to make this projection, which does not necessarily have to be a canvas. Therefore, just a white, smooth wall, preferably with paint without much shine.
The placement of the projector is also important. If you don’t want to fix it to the ceiling and find it unpleasant to have it in front of you, you can try to find other solutions, like a small bookcase behind the sofa. The bottom of a coffee table can also be a good solution.
Then there is the issue of ambient light. Remember that the blacks reproduced by the projector correspond to the absence of projected light. As such, they will have the brightness present on the wall or screen at that moment, so it is important to control the ambient light
And for those who are fans of watching movies and series in the comfort of the bed, using the ceiling as a projection space is an idea that can help improve comfort.
BlitzWolf BW-VP2 has a plastic structure and a brushed aluminum finish in the upper area. Also in that area, on the back side, it has 9 buttons that allow you to fully control its operation, as an alternative to the remote control.
On the side, on the lens side, it is possible to access the manual adjustment of the focus and the adjustment of the tilt of the projected image.
The projected image has a brightness intensity of 6500 Lumens (380 ANSI lumens), with a high brightness LED light source achieving a native contrast of 2000: 1, values that are very interesting for the range. The native resolution is FullHD, 1920 × 1080 pixels, the set being capable of good results in a projection size of 300 inches at a distance of 4 meters, or 100 ″ at 1.9 meters.
The expected duration of the LED is 60000 hours, enough for 20 years with 8 hours of daily operation, 15 times longer than most projectors with conventional lamps.
USB playback capability
So that it is not necessary to always carry an additional device to project an image, the BlitzWolf BW-VP2 then has the ability to play content from a USB storage unit, supporting photos, video, music and PDF documents. Thus, the use can be simpler and more practical in different situations.
Even though the native resolution is 1920 × 1080 pixels, it is capable of decoding 4K H.265 resolution content, with the output obviously limited to the maximum resolution that the projector can display.
As inputs it has 2x HDMI 1.4, VGA, AV (RCA audio and video) and two USB 2.0 ports. For sound output it has the 3.5mm jack interface, useful when the content comes from HDMI or USB and you want to use an external sound system.

Interface and features
As for the user interface, it couldn’t be simpler. It’s intuitive, fast and simple, without any advanced features. The home screen allows you to choose from 6 possible sources of content.
If one of the USB ports is chosen, then it is possible to choose the type of content, between video, audio, images and documents.
Additionally, from the options menu it is possible to fine-tune the image, adjusting the contrast, brightness, saturation, sharpness and hue (not available in all modes), and also the color temperature, by adjusting the reds, greens and blues . It is also possible to adjust the aspect ratio (16: 9/4: 3), noise reduction and resolution when the VGA port is in use.
As for the options during video playback, there are the typical ones, such as fast forward, rewind, slowmotion, adjust the zoom, go to a certain minute, go to the next video, etc. Among these options, there is the option that allows you to select the audio track of the video (if you have more than one) and also load the subtitles, allowing you to adjust the synchronization with the video.
The included remote control is ergonomic and complete, with precise button click.
Image and sound quality
We are talking about a projector in the order of 150 € with native FullHD resolution. The truth is that, for this price, you wouldn’t expect great quality, but the fact is that the result is really interesting.
The brightness of the projected image is very good, with very visible outlines even with a lot of ambient light. If this ambient light is canceled, then we can even place it next to a monitor (with normal light) and verify that the intensity is similar.
This projector is able to present a good image (which will be even better after careful tuning), having a reasonable brightness intensity.
It does not allow you to adjust the size of the projected image using the lens, which is a less good point. As for the focus, and due to the constraints of construction, it only allows to focus the whole image with the same sharpness if the internal LCD panel has no inclination. If you already have, then there are some points that will be a little out of focus. It is not a serious problem, for films it does not make any difference and for text projection does not prevent reading, however, it is another less good point to note.
As for the sound, it is another point in favor. The 2 included 5W speakers are similar to what is currently included in many high-end TVs. The midfielders are good, the highs are not strident and the low ones have some presence. Therefore, it is sufficient for most uses and ideal for less demanding users.
Even considering that it is an LED projector, energy consumption is similar to traditional projectors.
In particular, this projector has an instantaneous standby consumption of 1.5 W and a maximum instantaneous consumption of approximately 135 W.
The BlitzWolf BW-VP2 projector stands out for its great versatility and image resolution, taking into account the low cost. As with all projectors, it requires care in preparing the environment for use, requiring low intensity of external light. Still, it has good results when used in environments with some light.
As for the noise, the internal fan for cooling can be a little annoying, especially for those who give more value to the sound detail (scenes almost without sound) but it is perfectly tolerable. However, for other usage environments, such as games, sports and presentations, noise should not be a problem.
It supports several types of input, including HDMI, and this immediately gives you a wide range of compatibility with devices. As already mentioned, because it has an internal LCD panel where the LED light is projected, the fact that the panel can be tilted to correct the angle of the image, leads to some problems in focusing the entire image. To watch a movie or play is not relevant, but if you are projecting text in a presentation, it can already be significant. The solution is to adjust the level of the projector, so that less inclination is required.
