News about the Coronavirus does not cease to appear. With regard to Apple, we had already realized the difficulties that the Cupertino company is experiencing due to the outbreak.
It is now possible that the launch of the iPhone 9 will be delayed, since Apple has a production capacity of less than 50%.
The latest news indicates that the Coronavirus COVID-19 has already killed 2,361 people and infected 77,918 people. The first case of an infected Portuguese, who is in Japan on board the ship Diaomond Princess, was also disclosed.
Notably in the tech world, the latest news shows that PC delivery in 2020 could drop by up to 9%, and Samsung closed the Galaxy Z Flip factory after the virus arrived in Korea.
Apple has less than 50% of the production capacity of the iPhone 9
The Cupertino company was one of the biggest affected by the Coronavirus, having closed its stores and offices in China in early February. Some of these spaces were reopened in the middle of the month, but with some limitations and indications.
Earlier this month, Foxconn was concerned about the production of the iPhone 9 and iPhone 12.
Now Apple will even have to postpone the launch of the iPhone 9, also known as iPhone SE 2. The reason is that the company's production capacity is less than 50%.
Initially, Foxconn intended to resume at least half of production in China by the end of March and, in turn, regain 80% of that capacity in March.
iPhone 9, or iPhone SE 2, could be introduced as early as April 3
As we announced recently, Apple was due to hold an event on March 31 and, therefore, it was estimated that the new smartphone would hit the market on April 3.
However, as you can imagine, with the limitations in the production line, it will be practically impossible to successfully respond to the established deadlines.
