COVID-19 is here to stay and the main symptoms are already known. Before calling the National Health Service, you can always do a self-diagnosis. As we showed in March, it is possible to make a self-diagnosis on the SNS website quickly.
This type of functionality is also already available on the Apple website and in Portuguese.
The symptoms associated with COVID-19 are already well known. High fever, dry cough and difficulty breathing (eg shortness of breath). There may also be a sore throat, runny nose, headaches and / or muscle, tiredness and even loss of taste and smell.
In more severe cases, it can lead to severe pneumonia with acute respiratory failure, kidney and other organ failure, and eventual death. But there are other variables!
Apple's COVID ‑ 19 sorting tool
Before contacting health services, users can always self-diagnose. Through the tool provided by Apple, you can understand what measures should be taken in relation to the disease. To do so, just access on here and start sorting.
Then you should check if you have any of the symptoms presented. Obviously, in Portugal the number you should call is 808 24 24 24 (not 911).
Then you must continue with the questions (which are several) until a final diagnosis is presented. As you can see, in the final report your answers are presented and also some measures you must take.
Also note that today Apple has updated its app for help on COVID-19. However, the app is not available to users in Portugal which would be interesting since it brings a set of information that shows how to use the mask correctly.
