Have you heard of RCS? Still send and receive SMS? With the number of apps and services for conversation, it is natural that less and less resort to sending a simple SMS, as it only allows the sending of text. But it comes in handy in some situations.
Recently RCS (Rich Comunication Services) reached NOS, Nowo and MEO customers.
Unlike SMS, which only allows text to be sent, messages sent via RCS can include images, chat, sounds and videos. Despite being different technologies, both smartphones with native RCS and apps that also support this service, are able to detect the recipient's capabilities.
Thus, when you want to send an image through this service, the application automatically decides whether to send it by RCS or by SMS / MMS. This ensures that all messages are received, regardless of whether the recipient has native RCS or a compatible app.
This service was already available to Vodafone customers, but has now reached NOS, Nowo and MEO customers. According to information that Pplware obtained, Google deployed all operators in early May. Support for this service has reached customers at random. It should be noted that this is a bet by Google and not by operators.
