Sometimes we need to do a quick edit on a document, for example in PDF, but we don’t have any tools at hand suitable for the intended purpose. But there are lots of free online resources that can do what we intend to do effectively.
Today we are going to talk about the online program PDFescape that allows you, among others, to place links in PDF files without having to install any program on your computer.
Paid programs are arguably very complete services that give us access to a variety of tools for different purposes. Of these software there is almost always a free version that, although more limited, offers the user resources that already allow him to perform several activities perfectly.
But more and more there are also programs that we find available on the Internet, being able to use them completely online, without the need to install anything on the computer.
Today we are going to talk about PDFescape, an online program that allows you to edit various aspects of a PDF file, in a completely simple and easy way.
Learn how to insert links in a PDF file with PDFescape
You must first access the website PDFescape and click on the “Free Online“ version. The service is available for Google Chrome, Firefox 3+ browsers. Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 6+, Opera 9.5+ and Safari 2+.
Now you must click on the option “Upload PDF to PDFEscape“. The tool also allows you to create a new PDF, open a PDF via the Internet or open a previously opened one. Files must be less than 10 MB and less than 100 pages.
Now just choose the file to insert it on the platform, or simply drag the PDF to the indicated area.
Once the file is fully loaded, you can start editing the document in PDFescape.
In the left side menu, click on the “Link” option and then insert the links into the PDF document.
You should now identify the part of the PDF where you want to insert the link. With the left mouse button select the desired area to add the link.
Now in the box that appears immediately, you must add the link that the selected area should open as soon as it is clicked. In addition to an address, you can also define that the desired area opens a certain page of the document. This last option is very useful, for example, for indexes.
Then click “Ok” to finish.
After step 7 is done, you can then adjust the size and position of the link. You also have the option to remove the address using the trash can icon found on the top bar.
You can also add other links, as many as you like. To finish the process, click on the icon with two arrows to download the edited file.
Then you can open the PDF document on your computer, with the link to click and open what you defined as an address.
