Millennium BCP will be the next Portuguese bank to join Apple Pay

Apple Pay is a mobile payment system and digital wallet developed by Apple. In practical terms, this system allows, for example, users with the iPhone or the Apple Watch to make payments just by bringing the device closer. The service arrived in Portugal last year with Crédito Agrícola, but now Millennium BCP will also join.

This type of services contactless are increasingly in vogue, especially at this time to avoid physical contact.

Apple Pay is the modern payment of the current world

The idea of the Apple payment system is to allow the user to replace their wallet or physical credit / debit card with wireless purchases (via NFC), using the device's internet.

For security, Cupertino's company added transaction authentication from the company's biometric sensor, Touch ID or Face ID.

Millennium BCP is the next Portuguese bank to enter Apple Pay

According to the institution, through its social networks, Millennium BCP announced the arrival soon to the payment service Apple Pay, where there was still only the Agricultural Credit.

Soon, Millenium BCP customers will be able to add their cards to Apple's digital payments service, Apple Pay, which is already integrated into the latest iPhones.

So now, in addition to Crédito Agrícola, Revolut, Monese and N96, we will also have this service via Millennium BCP.

How can we add the Millennium card to Apple Pay?

Add a card on iPhone

  1. Go to the Wallet app and tap the Add button.
  2. Follow the steps to add a new card. Watch this demo to see how it works. If you are asked to add the card you use with your Apple ID, cards on other devices, or cards that you recently removed, select them and then enter the security codes for the cards. You may need to download an app from your bank or card issuer to add a card to your Wallet.
  3. Touch Next. The bank or card issuer will check your information and decide whether you can use the card with Apple Pay. If the bank or issuer needs more information to verify the card, you will be asked for that information. Once you have that information, return to the Wallet app and tap the card.
  4. After the bank or issuer has verified the card, tap Next. Then, start using Apple Pay.

Thus, Apple extends its service to more customers in Portugal. It now remains to know the date when this service will start.
