Operators are found for the 10 electric charging stations for automobiles, after the draw among the candidates. Licenses can now be delivered, with the respective public space license. These new electric stations may start operating now, and the forecast is that all will be installed by October, says a statement from the Municipality of Porto.
Operators responsible for the new charging stations…
EDP Comercial, Horizondistance, Kilometer Low Cost and Mobiletric are the operators that are responsible for managing the 10 electric charging stations for automobiles, distributed throughout various parts of the city.
The locations defined by the Municipality were:
- Francisco Sá Carneiro Square;
- Nove de Julho Street;
- Leonardo Coimbra Street;
- Avenue of the Council of Europe;
- Park Avenue;
- Dr. José António Marques Street;
- Henrique de Medina Street;
- Rua do Jornal de Notícias;
- Nove de Abril Street;
- José Gomes Ferreira Street.
The installation of electric vehicle charging stations in the municipal domain was a measure decided by the Chamber of Porto, taking into account the principle of sustainability and also calculating that, in the coming years, the number of electric cars in circulation should increase, the result of policies to encourage the reduction of CO2 emissions and the other policies applied in the city in the field of sustainability, which by 2050 wants to achieve carbon neutrality.
According to the statement, each operator can now start the activity. By October, all stations should be operational.
