The COVID-19 pandemic has had a very negative impact on the economy. For example, in the automotive segment, sales have dropped dramatically and it is only now beginning to feel some recovery. Through a statement, the Renault Group has now revealed that the Renault Zoe has broken a record for orders and sales in Europe.
More than 11,000 Renault ZOE were ordered in June in Europe.
The (new) Renault Zoe is a 100% electric car and offers 390 km of autonomy according to the WLTP cycle. The Zoe comes with a R135 electric motor with 100 kW of power, which is equivalent to about 135 horsepower, and a torque of 245 Nm. From 0 to 100 the new Zoe needs only 10 seconds and is limited to 140 km / h .
In May 2020, with the return of commercial activity in most European countries, the Renault Group recorded an increase in sales of the electric ZOE of 56%, when compared to the same month of 2019. The month of June came to confirm and reinforce this trend with a new record: the Renault Group received 11 158 new orders for the ZOE in Europe.
In France, 7,050 orders for ZOE were received in a single month, with a 355% increase compared to June 2019. In the rest of Europe, the pace continues to accelerate, as, for example, in Germany, where orders for ZOE grew 117%, for a total of 1 990 units.
June was a record-breaking month for our #RenaultZOE, with more than 11,000 customer orders in Europe! ⚡🇪🇺🏆 France, the largest market for @Groupe_Renaultit’s 100% #electric city car, also broke records with 3 times as many orders as in June 2019. Renault Zoe sales soar in Portugal
In Portugal, the Renault ZOE represented almost 6% of the brand’s total passenger car sales in June and, at the end of the first half of 2020, the brand’s electric car sales grew by 11.8% , in an extremely negative market context (passengers + light commercials) (-48.2%).
To this performance in orders is also added a sales record, with 10 944 (provisional data) Renault ZOE registered in Europe in just one month and a growth of 107% compared to June 2019.
