We have said several times that iOS has many tools that do not require third-party apps. However, given the range of services covered, it is not always the first time that we find the tool within the operating system. So, our tip today teaches you how to create compressed files, commonly ZIPs, natively with your iPhone.
This type of file serves not only to reduce the size of certain contents, but it is very useful to aggregate in a file only several others.
If you want to join texts and music in a single file, or have to send a lot of images and a presentation to school, or work, why not put everything together in a Zip? With native tools that your iPhone or iPad has, you can make it very easy.
How to create a ZIP on iPhone
IOS 13 brought a lot of news to devices. One of the novelties was the Files app. Within this is a fantastic set of options that can help you manage many of the actions that we do with our iPhone.
1 – So, to start our guide, let's open the Files app. Within the app, drag the screen downwards to find that menu where you have 3 points and the type of order.
2 – Now we are going to create a folder to make it easier to put the files together.
It is easier to use a folder with the files inside. It becomes simpler to mount the ZIP and it becomes simpler when unzipping, since everything is ordered by the set. So, after clicking on the 3 dots above, we choose the option New folder. We assign a name to know what it is about.
Add files by dragging or moving
3 – Now, let's add files to this folder. We can drag the files inside the Files app into our folder. Just click on the file without releasing and dragging. You can also do it in another way, which is to click and hold the file and in the context menu that will open, we can choose the destination folder.
You can also do it in another way. With the files inside the Files app, click Select, option in the upper right corner.
Then, you will see a selection area in front of each file. Select what you want and see the next step.
4 – Click on Compress and you have the file created, the ZIP, inside the File app. Now you can send by mail, for example, or by AirDrop, Messenger or WhatsApp without great stress.
So there are several ways to do this, all of them simple. However, we leave even more information in the images, see, for example, with the context menu of the files, everything you can do.
