On an Android smartphone, Google Maps is constantly collecting users’ location. This may be useful information to know where you’ve been, but it always poses a potential privacy issue.
This location can be easily found in the app, which shows the user a schedule of their travels and trips. As would be expected, Google gives users the ability to delete places visited on Maps. Here’s how to do it.
Delete user-visited locations
Having access to the log of places visited on Google Maps can be very useful. Android has this information always updated and accurately recorded in the app so that the user can follow in his or her footsteps. Anyone who wants to filter and delete some of these locations has a quick way to do so.
This is a process that even eliminating the sites, continues to keep them as being a place of passage. It stops showing it as a stopping point, but it remains present in the timeline and can still be queried.
A simple process on Google Maps
Those who want to delete these visited places should first open the Google Maps app and open the google maps menu. This is done by uploading the user’s photo. Next, you must choose your Timeline and then the Places tab.
In this you can immediately see some of the points visited, being grouped by types, be it shopping, hotels, sports or attractions. They must go down to the end of the list, passing through all kinds of locations. There, you must choose the View all places visited option.
All you have to do is choose the points to erase
A list of these points is now displayed, detailing dates, addresses and even number of visits made. These can also be marked as favorites, so they can be easily found later. The option you are looking for here is Select.
You are now given the opportunity to choose the places you want to delete from the visited list. All you need to do is tap the check box for each of these entries, accumulating the ones you want to make disappear.
To finish the process, all you need to do is click on the trash can icon at the top of the Google Maps interface. The user will be asked to confirm this step so that the locations are removed from Google Maps.
This is a simple, fast process that any user can perform to keep their timeline right. They can remove places where they haven’t been or where they don’t want to have a record of stopping.
