Tip: It's time to use a QR code on WhatsApp to share your contact

Facebook has brought WhatsApp a wide range of news and new features. These seek to make this even better service that was adopted by most Internet users.

If the most recent improvements were their adaptation to Messenger Rooms and what they offer, an improvement has now emerged for contacts. It is now possible to use QR codes to share contacts, both from the user and from outside.

An excellent new feature for WhatsApp

The use of QR codes for sharing contacts is not new. Facebook itself has this feature in Messenger and its use is too simple. Just point your smartphone at a user's code and that contact is shared.

Given its usefulness, WhatsApp has now received this news as well. To use it, they must be using the beta version of the Android app, either via the App Store or via version download in cause.

QR code to help users

To share or read a QR code you must find this novelty by opening the WhatsApp menu and choosing the Settings option. If this option is already present, they will find a small code QR profile photo together.

When you click on this new feature, you will immediately see the QR code associated with the user's contact. They just need to show it to another user to read it and thus assume contact sharing and save it.

Easy to share a contact with a simple image

If you prefer, you can share that code and the contact as an image. They find the share icon on top and can then choose who will receive it and what service or app they want to send it to. Again, it just needs to be read.

In addition to being able to show / send the QR code, they can also read a contact's code. Just choose the Read code tab and the camera will connect and point to a shared contact.

Another option is to upload an image, with code that they can read. At the end WhatsApp shows the read contact and can thus be stored by the user in contacts of this app.

For now it is in testing, but everything shows that it may soon be a reality in its final version. It will reach everyone on Android and also on iOS, where it is also present in the testing program of this system.
